Introduction to Video Editing and Production Level 2
Introduction to Video Editing and Production is a beginner-level, one-day course, designed to equip students with essential video editing skills. This course covers the basics of editing software, principles of continuity, pacing, transitions, and the importance of audio. Students will learn how to transform raw footage into cohesive, engaging visual stories by applying fundamental editing techniques. Throughout the course, students will work with professional editing tools, learning to apply transitions, effects, colour correction, and sound design to enhance the final product. By the end of the course, students will have a solid foundation in video editing that can be applied to various media forms, from short films to promotional videos.

Understand the Interface: Students will become familiar with the layout and essential functions of professional video editing software (Premiere specifically).
Apply Basic Editing Techniques: Students will be able to cut, trim, and organize clips to create a cohesive narrative with effective pacing.
Utilise Transitions and Effects: Students will learn how to apply transitions, filters, and some basic editing techniques to move between clips.
Integrate Audio Elements: Students will apply basic sound editing techniques, including music and dialogue mixing, sourcing music and sound effects.
Implement Colour Correction: Students will become familiar with basic colour correction, and grading, to achieve visual consistency and set the tone for their videos.
Export and Deliver Final Projects: Students will export their edited videos in various formats suitable for different platforms, maintaining quality and file efficiency.
