Human Resource Practice

This qualification is suitable if you are aspiring to a career in human resources (HR) or learning and development, or if you wish to improve your knowledge of HR as a manager or team leader. The course will introduce you to a wide range of theory and practice in order to increase your knowledge and develop your skills.

The emphasis throughout the course is on developing skills as well as knowledge. You will gain practical experience of applying the skills you have learnt in a realistic setting. Your own HR experience will play a major part in your learning on this course, and you will be encouraged to apply new skills through role play. A student conference is also planned. You will be assessed through practical and written assignments in which you will be able to explain how you apply HR practices in the workplace.

"When I attended an Open Evening at the University Centre South Devon I was initially unsure which direction I wanted to take.  When I spoke to a tutor about my goals, strengths and weaknesses, they guided me to a degree in business and management and I never looked back."Charlotte McGowan
