HABC First Aid at Work Requalifier Award Level 3

This course allows those in possession of a valid First Aid at Work Certificate to update their qualification.

The Requalification course must be completed within the three year validity of the original certificate. It is designed to requalify and update your knowledge of all the skills gained in the full First Aid at Work Course and covers all the same topics, validated by Highfield (HABC).

You will be expected to take part in a range of practical first aid activities and both written and oral questioning. Please be aware you will need to provide photographic ID on the day of the course and you will need to provide a current First Aid at Work Certificate (valid for three years).

What will I learn?

  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillators (AED)

  • Managing the unconscious casualty

  • Treating and controlling bleeding

  • Personal hygiene and cross infection when treating wounds

  • Treating burns and scalds

  • Treating injuries to bones, muscles and joints

  • Recognising and addressing shock

  • Treating eye injuries and rinsing out eyes

  • Recognising illness including poisons

  • Simple record keeping and the duty of employers

  • Using the materials in the first aid box
