This course is relevant if you are currently completing a work placement. Employers may decide to enrol their employees on this course once they have undertaken an assessment of their first aid needs.
You will be expected to take part in a range of practical first aid activities including both written and oral questioning. Please be aware that you will need to provide photographic ID on the day.

Managing the unconscious casualty
Treating and controlling bleeding
Personal hygiene and cross infection when treating wounds
Treating burns and scalds
Treating injuries to bones, muscles and joints
Recognising and addressing shock
Treating eye injuries and rinsing out eyes
Recognising illness including poisons
Simple record keeping and the duty of employers
Using the materials in the first aid box
