Group Indoor Cycling Instructor

This qualification is aimed at individuals with a passion for fitness and who wish to design and deliver safe and effective group indoor cycling sessions. It is an ideal add on qualification for qualified fitness instructors. Once qualified, an indoor cycling instructor will more than likely have hours that fit into a leisure facility timetable. This means that they will also more than likely charge hourly rates for the classes. The hours will vary hugely on the facility that they work at. For this course you will need to have completed a Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing (QCF) in Gym or Exercise to Music before taking this qualification.

The units covered are:

1. The benefits of group indoor cycling
2. Health and safety
3. How to design and teach safe and effective group indoor cycling sessions
4. The principles and variables used within a group indoor cycling session
5. How to monitor and motivate participants
6. How to use music during group indoor cycling sessions
7. How to reflect on providing group indoor cycling sessions

"There were many memorable moments on the course, my favourite being when a course mate and I organised a trip to the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES) Sports Science Conference at Portsmouth University, which was really valuable.  The course provides both theoretical and practical knowledge, making it excellent preparation for a career, whether that's in sports or in any other field."Alec Phillips
