This course is aimed at those who want an introduction to Forest School.
The course is run on various dates over 2 mornings and you will also have 6 months to complete an online portfolio.
You will learn both inside the classroom and outside in South Devon College’s Conservation Area. We also have an online learning environment where resources and tutor guidance will be available.
The cost for this course is £80.
• Planning and delivery of a Forest School programme
• Woodland environment
• Learning and child development
• Practical skills including den building, fire lighting and tool use
• You will need access to Forest School sessions for practical elements of the assessment.
• The Department for Education’s minimum age for a Forest School Leader is 21, but assistants can be younger
• GCSE in English Language at grade C or above (or equivalent) is desirable
• You will need suitable clothing as sessions take place whatever the weather
