Fitness Instructor Theory

The level 2 Fitness Instructor Theory certificate provides the underpinning knowledge for all practical instructor courses. This course is a requirement in order to gain the full qualification as a Gym, Exercise to Music, Children’s Fitness or Aqua Instructor. You will learn through both theory and practical sessions taught by a team of highly qualified, professional and experienced teachers, trainers and assessors and you will be assessed through multiple choice examination and worksheets. To study this course you must be enrolling onto one of our level 2 practical pathways.

If you prefer to study your theory online via e-learning which is the same qualification as above, however, rather than attending taught sessions, you can work through the units at your own pace from home online. This option will not be suitable for all, so please discuss this with a tutor at your interview.

Units covered are;

1. Anatomy & physiology for exercise
2. Health, safety & welfare
3. Principles of fitness
4. Know how to support clients
