Engineering in Design and Manufacturing Diploma Level 3

This course is all about the role engineering plays in design and manufacturing. It’s perfect if you’re fascinated by how things are made and want to progress into design engineering or production. You’ll develop skills in essential engineering concepts, including mechanics, design, drawing and manufacturing.

There’s a heavy focus on practical learning – you’ll be working on assignments that include CNC programming, mechanical principles, and CAD design. Everything you do is about gaining practical experience with industry standard equipment that you will use during your engineering career. You’ll have access to the latest technology, such as CNC machinery, 3D printers, and CAD/CAM software.

All of this is taught by experienced engineers in worldclass facilities, with our £17 million Hi Tech and Digital Centre. Upon completion of this two year course you can progress onto the FdSc/HNC Manufacturing and Mechatronic Engineering at University Centre South Devon or consider employment within the sector.

"I chose to study an engineering focused degree because there is so much to learn. The tutors are great and have so much industry knowledge which they share with you. The staff are really helpful if you need guidance. My apprenticeship is with Spirent Communications and I won 'Apprentice of the Year' in 2015 at the Apprenticeship Awards, which I'm really proud of."Sophie Westerman
