If you’ve ever had a fascination for how things are made, or improving the way something works, then a career in engineering could be for you. This course is your first introduction to the world of engineering, where you’ll develop the essential skills and discover the different opportunities that a hi-tech career can offer. The engineering programme at Level 1 is best suited if you are considering a career in Engineering. The course will provide you with the essential skills required as an engineer. You will gain exposure to a real life engineering workshop and undertake practical assessments using the latest industry equipment and technology. You will also learn how to work within a team and develop on your literacy and numeracy skills.

You’ll be studying a broad range of subjects, as you work on practical activities in a real-life engineering workshop. With significant investment in the local hi-tech and digital sector, we will be offering state-of-the-art facilities at our £17 million Hi-Tech and Digital Centre. With access to the latest equipment, software, and machines, being taught by industry leaders and experienced professionals, there will be no better place to start your career as a highly skilled engineer.

Upon completion, you could progress into employment as an apprentice, or alternatively continue your studies on a Level 2 course.
