Electrical Installation Diploma Level 1

Our courses in electrical installation are about more than just learning a trade. They’re about setting you up for a lifelong career, with skills that will always be in demand. This is a skilled trade, so you’ll need strong attention to detail and be a keen problem solver – if that sounds like you, then a career as an electrician could be just what you’re looking for.

This Level 1 course is your first introduction to electrical installation, where you’ll learn all of the essential skills that you’ll need for more advanced courses and in your later career. You’ll be learning about electrical science, putting this into practice during plenty of practical sessions where you gain valuable, real-life experience. This practical experience is key to your learning, so you’ll be based in our fully equipped workshops, taught by qualified professionals who’ve been there and done it themselves.

This course is the perfect start for a rewarding career that will challenge you every day, opening up opportunities across the industry. When you’ve finished the course, you can either progress directly to Level 2 or, if you’d prefer to learn out in the workplace, you can consider an apprenticeship in electrical installation.

“I chose to study at South Devon College as I've always had an interest in trades. It's a great place to learn about the industry before entering the workplace. The staff are really helpful and I prefer the College environment to school as you're treated more like an adult. It’s a really fun and exciting course."Charlie Capewell
