Every day is different as an electrician, facing new challenges at every site. This course will start to develop the more advanced, technical skills you’ll need to fix these problems and have a long, successful career in the construction and building services industry.
As an electrician, you’ll be responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining electrical wiring and fixtures. At this level, you’ll begin using power tools so you can install a variety of electrical circuits properly and, most importantly, safely.
This qualification is for those who wish to work as an electrician in the building services industry. It has been designed to deliver a high level of occupational skills and provide a platform from which to progress further into an apprenticeship/employment or on to the Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installation.
You are expected to participate in mandatory work experience placements and activities during this qualification.
“I chose to study at South Devon College as I've always had an interest in trades. It's a great place to learn about the industry before entering the workplace. The staff are really helpful and I prefer the College environment to school as you're treated more like an adult. It’s a really fun and exciting course."Charlie Capewell
