NVQ Electrical Installation

This stand-alone NVQ is the diary of the work you carry out whilst in the employment of a practising electrician. Our assessor will visit you on-site a number of times to assess your competence and you will be required to attend college workshops on a mutually agreed basis.

Upon completion of your NVQ, you will be required to sit an external exam (AM2) at another college which forms the summative assessment of your competence.

Initial online training will be given to ensure that you can upload information to your online diary. You should already be working in the electrical industry and may be required to complete additional theory units (where appropriate). The price of this course also includes your e-portfolio license, NVQ assessments and the AM2 test.

If you are aged 19 and over you may have options to help fund your studies with us. The funding you can receive depends on your personal circumstances, and could mean you are entitled to free or reduced course fees. You may also be entitled to support with travel, childcare and equipment. To find out exactly what you could receive, contact our Helpzone team on 08000 380 123 for a free, impartial appointment, with no commitment necessary.

“I chose to study at South Devon College as I've always had an interest in trades. It's a great place to learn about the industry before entering the workplace. The staff are really helpful and I prefer the College environment to school as you're treated more like an adult. It’s a really fun and exciting course."Charlie Capewell
