Cyber Resilience Simulation – Introduction to Cyber security Level 3
Introducing the Level 3 Introduction to Cyber Security course, designed to provide a solid grounding in cybersecurity essentials. This program encompasses key components vital for navigating the complexities of digital security effectively.
The course will contain a mix of a practical experience that is delivered in our new Cyber-Resilience simulation suite, along with online learning modules that will support understanding.
The Cyber Resilience Simulation offers a secure environment, separate from live systems, where organisations can simulate cyberattacks and test response strategies. This controlled sandbox/lab environment allows for the evaluation of cybersecurity measures without risking disruption to production networks. Through realistic scenarios, such as malware outbreaks or phishing campaigns, organisations can assess their defences and incident response protocols effectively.
Central to the simulation is the Red Team/Blue Team dynamic. The Red Team, acting as attackers, employs offensive tactics to breach defences, while the Blue Team, taking a defensive stance, works to detect, respond, and mitigate the simulated threats. This approach allows for comprehensive testing of incident response capabilities in a controlled setting.
Courses within the Cyber Resilience Simulation framework provide a balanced mix of hands-on practice, training labs, and theoretical instruction (with in-person support available). Participants gain practical experience in identifying and addressing security incidents, equipping them with the skills needed to protect against evolving cyber threats. Ultimately, the Cyber Resilience Simulation fosters proactive cybersecurity practices, enabling organisations and individuals to strengthen their defences and enhance overall resilience in the face of cyberattacks.
The study programme will benefit any individuals or small businesses that wishes to learn more about online security and become more security aware in the online world.
The online element will be studied through the Practice Labs platform and is expected to take approximately 20 hours of self-study.
The classroom element (available from 1st September) can be done either before or after the online element, depending on the needs of the individual learner or business. This will both build on and reinforce the knowledge of the online theory.
