This course is ideal if you wish to become a Paralegal/Legal Assistant, move into a Legal Services career or further develop your skills within an existing role. The qualification is suitable if you are in a longer standing role within the Legal Services sector and are looking to develop skills in a new area of work.
This qualification meets the criteria for the Paralegal Trailblazer Apprenticeship. The course is competence-based and assessed through a portfolio of evidence, meaning that you must be performing a legal role in a legal workplace in order to meet the requirements of the qualification.
"As a single mum of two, I wanted to retrain and improve my career prospects. Initially, I was hesitant to enrol as I believed myself to be too old, but I was convinced otherwise, and I've never looked back! I enrolled on an Access to Higher Education course focusing on Psychology, Sociology and Law pathways; it was one of the best decisions I've made. With the support of the tutors I progressed to the FdSc Law with Business programme, graduating with a 2:1 after completing my final year at Plymouth University. I'm now a Youth Support worker and a Student Mentor for learners who are school phobic or have medical problems. My experience at University Centre South Devon was fantastic, and has inspired me to encourage others to invest in their education. It's never too late - returning to education has improved my prospects and I'm so glad I did it."Lynn Lathwell
