Childcare and Education Diploma Level 3
This course is perfect for people who are passionate about working with children and who want to work at an unsupervised level – leading activities, supporting learning, and improving lives. This two year course balances theoretical and practical study, giving you the tools to succeed in this rewarding sector.
This is a more advanced course that looks at many approaches to childcare and working with young people. By studying diverse topics, looking at the different perspectives across the world, you’ll be prepared to respond to any situation, in any childcare or early years setting.
You will be based in College for four days a week, with a placement for one day a week in an early years setting, where you apply your knowledge of theories relating to child development and educational practice. Upon completion, you could consider employment or apply to the Early Years Care and Education foundation degree at University Centre South Devon.

“I’ve been a veterinary nurse for 17 years and have managed 2 surgeries, working in Paignton and Bristol as well as in Cape Town, South Africa. I love watching learners grow in confidence, and there’s no greater pleasure than seeing a student develop into an experienced professional with an exciting future ahead of them.”Donna Fowler
