This qualification is designed to develop the skills, knowledge and competence required to work in an unsupervised capacity with older adults and disabled adults. The YMCA Chair Based Exercise Instructor Award Level 2 will also enable you to plan and deliver chair–based exercise.
Delivered over four weeks, you will study the theory and practice of health related fitness exercises and how to deliver activity sessions suitable for older clients and disabled adults.
There is no pre-requisite for this course; however a background in working with the target groups in adult social care or fitness instructing will be beneficial.
Upon completion of this course you will be able to work in many facilities such as nursing homes, care homes and in community groups.
