Pearsons Certificate in Education and Training (CET)

The Certificate in Education and Training is suitable for those who teach ages 14+ students, primarily at one level or one-to-one or from pre-prepared pack, it is the first stage teaching qualification which has a teaching/training practice element.

You should be qualified /experienced in the subject you intend to teach at the appropriate level and possess good levels of literacy, numeracy and ICT skills. There is a requirement for a minimum of 30 hours of practice for this qualification. You will be required to attend an interview as part of the application process.

Please note, you should be qualified/experienced in the subject you intend to teach and have access to 30 teaching practice hours to complete this qualification.

Upon successful completion of this course you could progress onto a higher level teaching qualification if appropriate.

If you are aged 19 and over you may have options to help fund your studies with us. The funding you can receive depends on your personal circumstances, and could mean you are entitled to free or reduced course fees. You may also be entitled to support with travel, childcare and equipment. Debbie is very experienced in early years education having worked in the childcare industry, both in practice and management, for many years. She has a level 4 qualification in Leadership and Management, level 4 in Education and Training, and the A1 Assessing qualification. Debbie is the course manager for the adult’s level 3 Early Years Workforce programme, and assesses students in their work place to support competency and practical skills. She's passionate about promoting professional practice and supporting students on their journey through further education to gain employment in the early years sector.Debbie Shore
