Site Carpentry

The Level 2 Site Carpentry apprenticeship will take two years to complete and comprises three distinct elements: practical work, knowledge assessments and functional skills for maths and English. During this apprenticeship, you will attend College for one day per week, whilst being employed by a recognised site carpenter – the College can support you in finding a suitable employer. To become a carpenter you will need to have an eye for detail and have good mathematical skills for measuring and working out angles, as well as following technical drawings and plans.

This covers Bench Joinery.

What will I learn?

“I chose to study at South Devon College as I've always had an interest in trades. It's a great place to learn about the industry before entering the workplace. The staff are really helpful and I prefer the College environment to school as you're treated more like an adult. It’s a really fun and exciting course."Charlie Capewell
