On successful completion of the foundation degree, you could progress onto the BA (Hons) Leadership and Management at University Centre South Devon.
The full-time and part-time course has one start point in September.
This course is delivered through a wide range of methods, including lectures, seminars, workshops and collaborative discussion. You will be expected to participate in these sessions and prepare accordingly, in order to develop your ideas fully and get the most from your studies. The course also organises regular educational visits, with a range of local and national trips, and further trips planned in Europe. Past activities have included visiting large companies and business districts, including Jaguar in Birmingham and Canary Wharf in London, and trips to Amsterdam and Brussels. In addition to the theoretical knowledge you will develop, you will also gain valuable practical experience. This will be acquired through working with local businesses on live projects and assessments, as well as a work experience placement (which we can support you in identifying) to further strengthen your CV and prospects. You can expect to be assessed by a variety of different methods during your studies. These will include coursework-based activities such as essays, projects, case studies and examinations. There will also be more practical assessments, which will include group and individual presentations. Each module is worth a specified number of credits: you take a combination of compulsory (and if available optional modules) enabling you to cover key subject knowledge while developing your own interests. For full time students a total of 120 credits will be studied in each academic year. In the majority of cases this will consist of six modules. For part time students it will depend on the intensity of your studies. The approximate percentage of the course assessed by coursework is as follows: Year 1 - 90% coursework 10% Practical Year 2 - 90% coursework 10% Practical Timetables are normally available one month before the commencement of your studies. As a guide, In 2018/19 the first year of this programme was timetabled on: Monday/Tuesday/Thursday.
