Award in Education & Training (AET)

The Award in Education & Training provides an introduction to teaching/training/tutoring further education, and it will be delivered at Level 3 over a period of 5 days if completed during the day, or 10 three-hours sessions if completed in the evening.

The qualification is designed to enable you to reflect on your own previous/current levels of experience, practice and skills, and areas for development. Identify principles of learning, teaching, assessment and evaluation. Develop confidence, communication and inter-personal skills. Develop an awareness of your professional role and responsibilities.

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification, but you must be considering a subject for delivery and have a qualification in your subject/skill. You should possess reasonable levels of literacy, numeracy and ICT skills. An interview is required for attendance on this course.

A teaching placement is not required; completion of assessment portfolio online through Moodle – instructions given in first session

Assessed micro teach with assessor present as part of the course or via video upload
