Aviation Pathway including Airline Cabin Crew and Airport Operations Level 3
NCFE is the newest Aviation qualification on the market, superseding the City and Guilds Air Cabin Crew. It has been written in collaboration with 3 airports and aviation colleges to ensure completely up to date information and assessment with work skills required for the industry. Also included in all courses is tutorials, life skills, maths and English development, work experience and visits enrichment. It offers breadth and depth of study, incorporating a key core of knowledge, skills and understanding, and provide opportunities to acquire several practical and work-related skills in customer service, confidence, time management and organisational skills.

South Devon College is located conveniently for access to Exeter, Cornwall and Bristol airports. Opportunities will be provided for airport visits and regular aviation industry guest speakers such as RAF Cabin Crew, British Airways, Exeter Airport, local / national travel and tourism employers.
Topics covered will include industry terminology, health, safety and security procedures, customer service, selling skills, making passenger announcements, responding to emergencies, weather effects and customer comfort. Further training will be provided in First Aid and passenger conflict management, and you will be offered regular health and well-being activities. You will learn aspects of the role of cabin crew through classroom-based lessons and practical assessments/examinations.
Opportunity will be provided for progression onto the Year 2 Diploma Travel and Tourism/Aviation, apprenticeships and/or employment.
Course Details
- You will need to have achieved a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4(C) or above, including Maths and English
- You must have completed an appropriate vocational qualification at Level 2
- You should have a genuine interest in this subject
- You also need the personal qualities required for working in the travel industry, such as high grooming standards, good communication skills, enthusiasm and a willingness to complete practical assessments.

Preparation for a career – look at a range of career options available with practical employability skills and interview skills
Airline Cabin Crew – understand the health, safety, security and on-board services of this role/Ground Operations
This course is ideal if you have always wanted to work in an airline or travel environment, giving excellent customer service both in the air as cabin crew, as ground staff in an airport or working within another role in aviation.

Many of our courses are fully funded for 16-18 year olds however not all courses are available for this age group.
