Aqua- Water Based Exercise Instructor

This qualification is the practical element for those wishing to work in the health and fitness industry in the context of Aqua/water-based exercise (prerequisite is the level 2 Fitness Instructor Theory qualification). To qualify for this Aqua-Water based Exercise Instructor qualification, it is required that you pass the level 2 Fitness Instructor Theory Mandatory Units. The aim of this course is to provide you with the knowledge, understanding and skills to plan and instruct water-based exercise sessions. You will learn through both theory and practical sessions and will be assessed through observation of your practical instruction.

The units covered are:

1. How to plan and teach safe and effective Aqua exercise sessions
2. The principles of training
3. How to adapt exercise to suit varied fitness levels
4. How to use a range of teaching skills
5. The body’s systems and its response to exercise
6. Health and safety factors
7. How to motivate and support clients.
