Professional Qualification: YMCA Instructing Water-Based Exercise Certificate

The YMCA Instructing Water-Based Exercise Certificate Level 2 is aimed at individuals who want to pursue a career in the health and fitness industry as a fitness instructor in water-based exercise.

The aim of this course is to provide you with the knowledge, understanding and skills to plan and instruct water-based exercise sessions. You will learn through both theory and practical sessions and will be assessed through observation of your practical instruction.

This qualification will allow you to work in leisure facilities, community centres or as a freelance self-employed instructor or at a health, leisure and fitness centre.

To qualify for this course, it is required that you pass the Fitness Instructor Theory Level 2 Mandatory Units.

This course is recognised by the Register of Exercise Professionals (REP’s), accredited by the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) and regulated by Ofqual.

If you are aged 19 and over you may have options to help fund your studies with us. The funding you can receive depends on your personal circumstances, and could mean you are entitled to free or reduced course fees. You may also be entitled to support with travel, childcare and equipment.
