Advanced Carpentry and Joinery Apprenticeship Level 3
This Wood Occupations apprenticeship allows you to specialise in either Site Carpentry or Architectural Joinery.
As a Level 3 Advanced Site Carpentry apprentice you will be required to work on a building site or in domestic and commercial premises preparing and installing complex and often bespoke building components e.g. high quality doors, shaped linings, staircases with turns, complex wall and floor units, erecting bespoke structural carpentry (incline roofs and joints) and erecting complex roof structures (e.g. inclined roofs with hips, valleys and dormers).
As a Level 3 Architectural Joiner you will be required to be employed in a workshop, producing complex building components by setting out, marking out and manufacturing bespoke architectural products (e.g. doors, windows, stair cases with turns and panelling/cladding).

Site Carpentry Standard:
Installing first fix components in the workplace.
Installing second fix components in the workplace.
Maintaining non structural carpentry in the workplace.
Erecting structural carcassing in the workplace.
Health and safety within a construction environment.
A range of hand and power tool skills and fixed machinery.
Architectural Joinery Standard:
How to set up and use portable power tools.
How to produce setting out details.
How to mark out joinery.
How to manufacture a range complex joinery items.
Overview of the construction industry.

Katy has worked in secondary schools (private and public), further education (FE) and higher education (HE) environments and is qualified with a PGCE in Secondary Physical Education, QTS and QTLS.
