Access to Higher Education Diploma: Health Professionals (Distance Learning)

This online course offers an exciting opportunity to gain the qualifications that you need to progress to University in the convenience of your own home.

This is an online learning platform that includes innovative, interesting lessons and full support from a personal tutor. The course takes two academic years to complete, although you do have the option to finish earlier, if you wish. Please note, this is a termtime only course and tutors may be unavailable during half term breaks and holidays.

The Health Studies pathway consists of three core subjects; Health Studies, Biology and Psychology. Alongside three core academic subjects, you will receive training in study skills; support in academic writing and referencing, as well as guidance with the UCAS application process.

This pathway is widely accepted on a variety of university courses including Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Midwifery, Occupational Therapy, Paramedic Training and many more. Check the website of your chosen university for their entry requirements.

  • It is desirable if you have a clear idea of the university course that you would like to apply for

  • Please check your HE institute choice/s for their entry requirements

  • Both Maths and English GCSE grade 4 (or equivalent) are required for all Access to HE Diplomas (exceptions will be considered if you do not need this criteria in order to progress to your selected Higher Education Institute).

You may be able to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to pay for your course fees, which you will not have to repay if you progress to University and complete your degree.
