Access to Higher Education Diploma: Education (Distance Learning)
Are you looking to do a degree in teaching or childhood studies or childhood education?
This Access to Higher Education Diploma in Education is a distance learning opportunity which allows you to gain the qualifications you need to progress on to University from the convenience of your own home and is well suited to those who work full time or have young children.
You will use our online learning platform that includes innovative, interesting lessons along with full support from a personal tutor. This pathway consists of core subjects in Educational Theory, Practice and Childhood Studies. You will also receive training in study skills; support in academic writing, as well as walking you through the UCAS application process.
Check the website of your chosen university for their entry requirements to ensure this course is right for you. Funding is available for this course via an Advanced Learner Loan. Progression and completion of a subsequent foundation degree, will mean this loan does not need to be repaid

- Please check your HE institute choice/s for their entry requirements
- Both Maths and English GCSE grade 4 (or equivalent) are required for all Access Diplomas (exceptions will be considered if you do not need this criteria in order to progress to your selected Higher Education Institute).
Upon successful completion you could progress to study related foundation degrees at University Centre South Devon.
