This Business qualification has been developed in partnership with universities, employers and industry experts to ensure the content is relevant and helps you build the skills and knowledge needed for further study, employment or starting your own business.
In the first year, you will work towards a Level 3 Extended Certificate in Business, with the option to continue into a second year to achieve a Level 3 Diploma in Business. This full-time course explores how businesses operate, different types of business ownership and structures, and the relationship between ownership and business objectives. You will examine how functional areas work together within a business and how organisations respond to economic, social and technological change.
Throughout the course, you will gain insight into the influence of different stakeholders, develop effective communication skills for business contexts, and learn how informed decisions are made using a range of information. You will also build practical skills in planning and evaluating business projects.
In the second year, topics include change management, marketing and the completion of a business project.
Learning is delivered through a combination of practical activities and theory-based sessions.
You will need to have achieved a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English Language (Maths GCSE at grade 3 is accepted)
