The courses we deliver in Newton Abbot have been designed to meet the needs of the local community, offering training and guidance to learners of all ages and backgrounds.

South Devon College is committed to investing in new opportunities for students in South Devon, and our Newton Abbot Campus continues to grow. The Campus is located in the centre of town and is easily accessible, with excellent transport links through bus and train travel, which the College may be able to help support financially.

Our training covers a range of trades and specialisms, with Further Education courses and apprenticeships available so that you can always find the course that’s right for you. We offer a variety of support services, so that we can assist you at any stage in your education or personal development, and help you find employment in a career that you are passionate about.

Our expert team are on hand to support you in the next stage of your career, whether that’s preparing for employment, higher education or finding a suitable employer to begin an apprenticeship with.

Facilities at Newton Abbot Campus

Skills Centre – Bradley Lane, Newton Abbot, TQ12 1LZ

Our purpose- built workshop at Bradley Lane is home to the Automotive Skills Centre and the Construction Skills Centre, where we deliver automotive and construction courses from Entry Level to Level 3, as well as apprenticeships. Students develop essential practical skills in our fully equipped workshops and our Automotive Diagnostic Laboratory.

Hair and Beauty Skills Academy – Pearl Assurance House, Courtenay Street, Newton Abbot, TQ12 2AD

The Skills Academy at Pearl Assurance House includes a hairdressing salon and a brow and nail bar. We offer treatments to the public, developing valuable experience in a real working environment. 

Supporting you in your studies

We are pleased to offer a variety of support services, including bursaries, College meals and travel support, all of which remove barriers to successful learning. Support could be available to help pay for supplies such as: books, equipment, trips and kit. 

South Devon College is committed to providing free bus travel to all full-time students aged between 16-18 years old, who live more than 3 miles from the College and have a household income of less than £21,000 per year.

The Newton Abbot Campus is easily accessible, located in centre of town, and is a short walk away from the train station.
