New...National Apprenticeships week, click here for details
Apprenticeships have been designed and developed in partnership with employers and Sector Skills Councils to provide an effective, high-quality, work based route to the skills employers want. Apprenticeships provide apprentices of all ages with the expertise specific to your industry and directly relevant to your business. They are literally designed around your business needs by industry specialists who genuinely understand what you do.
Apprenticeships include National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) or equivalent, Key Skills (including Communications and Application of Number), Technical Certificates and other relevant qualifications. These are world renowned qualifications. For some people, completion of an Apprenticeship can be a valid route to higher education, perhaps through a Foundation Degree. The training itself is a mix of practical, on-the-job instruction and elements of off-the-job learning usually via day release at South Devon College. There are three levels of Apprenticeships offered at South Devon College:
· 'Intermediate Apprenticeships' at Level 2 · 'Advanced Apprenticeships' provide the opportunity to train to Level 3 · Higher Apprenticeships at Level 4 are available in a few business areas
