South Devon College is offering a wealth of business and professional training opportunities to those with a thirst for knowledge and a will to succeed in the Teignbridge area – through an outstanding level of provision from its Management Centre at Heathfield.

If you would like to take a step up in your earning power and achieve a nationally recognised qualification in Retail Skills at Level 2 then you can sharpen up your CV in six to nine months with a flexible start NVQ(funding may be available subject to eligibility).

For those firms who have complicated delivery and storage needs Business Advantage staff can take you through gaining your Warehouse and Storage NVQ Level 2 qualification. It can have a flexible start and is run on average over six to nine months and funding may be available – subject to eligibility.

Not everyone employed has the appropriate qualification. Existing staff who may have entered a firm to do a specific job based on their past record can now reinforce their CV with a qualification that proves to all their fitness to do the job.

Now they can take advantage of Skills Boost, a range of adult apprentice courses up to Level 3 which the new Coalition Government wish to prioritise as a way of raising the skills of the workforce through the national apprenticeship programme. This means that experienced adult workers can now benefit from a package of relevant, nationally recognised qualifications.

The Skills Boost programme offers qualifications in Accounting, Team Leading, Business Admin, Customer Service, Retail and Warehousing and Storage. Also English and Maths modules for those without the relevant Level 2 qualifications.

Skills Boost offers:

A short technical certificate with the latest industry standard training to raise skills.
An NVQ qualification delivered at work to recognise the skills and competencies of your staff and fill gaps in their knowledge.
The support and coaching of an experienced Training Officer to motivate and assist staff during the programme.
