Adult & Community Learning in Brixham
Our aim is to offer part time courses and workshops for as many different people with as many different interests as possible and to make learning productive, inspiring and enjoyable. We are keen to welcome new and returning learners alike and each year create a prospectus and course updates that offer a good balance between new subjects and those that have proved successful and popular in previous years.

The main prospectus is produced in August and supplementary updates come out in December and March. These are available to view on the website and/or copies can be emailed to you, posted or picked up from the ACL Centres in Paignton, Brixham and Torquay, the main South Devon College receptions and local libraries.
In Brixham ACL is based at Brixham College, the reception and most daytime classes accessed via the Westover Close entrance. In the evening, as well as using our own designated rooms we have access to many of Brixham College’s specialist rooms and the car park. We also use additional outstations, including the Admiral Swimming Centre.

The ACL Centre has a lovely garden area that has been created by ACE members, volunteers and staff.
ACE is a registered charity for physically disabled adult learners and it is housed at the ACL Centre. The’ Thursday Group’ meets every Thursday during term time but additional ACE courses run at other times during the week. Subjects currently enjoyed include pottery, swimming, sports mobility, art, creative writing, cookery and – of course – gardening. If you have a disability, know someone who would like to join ACE or would like to find out about helping with ACE as a volunteer please contact the ACE Administrator on 853302 for more information.
