Adult & Community Learning in Paignton

Our aim is to offer part time courses and workshops for as many different people with as many different interests as possible and to make learning productive, inspiring and enjoyable. We are keen to welcome new and returning learners alike and each year create a prospectus and course updates that offer a good balance between new subjects and those that have proved successful and popular in previous years.

The main prospectus is produced in August and supplementary updates come out in December and March. These are available to view on the website and/or copies can be emailed to you, posted or picked up from the ACL Centres in Paignton, Brixham and Torquay, the main South Devon College receptions and local libraries.

In Paignton ACL is based on the second floor of the impressive, award winning University Centre building at South Devon College. All enquiries and enrolments come to our reception. Our contact details are:

We have excellent IT facilities, a fantastic performance/exercise room, an art studio, a craft room and great general purpose classes, all on a campus in which we often use other specialist rooms when they are available. We also use outstations for some courses, including the fabulous new Paignton library.

In the University Centre there are two cafes, additional to the wide range of facilities that are available within the main Vantage Point building. These include a gym, hairdressing and beauty rooms and the fantastic Horizons Restaurant.
