£3000 fee waiver available for eligible university students at South Devon College
The College has just announced its National Scholarship Programme for university students. Students who qualify will be able to apply for a Scholarship which will give them a 50% fee waiver from the first year’s fees, which equates to £3000.
To be eligible, students must have received an offer from South Devon College for a place on a full time Foundation Degree course in: Yacht Operations, Biosciences, Engineering Technologies, Events & Conference Management, Tourism/ Tourism & Hospitality Management. These subjects are of strategic importance to the Torbay and South Devon economies, so the College is keen to encourage applications in these areas to support local employers.
As well as receiving an offer from the College for one of the courses listed above, students will need to be in a household where the total income is less than £25,000 per year, and also be entitled to receive the full state maintenance grant. 18 Scholarship places are available, so competition will be intense. Anyone making an application will need to explain their commitment to study to justify why they should receive the Scholarship.
Those students who have already received offers for September 2012 will be receiving their applications shortly from the College; any eligible applicants receiving offers in the future will receive a Scholarship application form with their offer.
Places are still available on these courses to start in September 2012. For further information about the Scholarship or about any of the College’s university courses, come to our Open Evening on Tuesday 29 May from 5pm to 8pm
