South Devon College are excited to announce that they have been shortlisted for interview stage with the Department of Education to establish a Studio School set to open in September 2013. A studio School is a small school for 300 14-19 year old learners.

The Devon Health Studio will be located in Torquay on the Torbay Hospital site and focussed on professional learning leading to careers in Health, Social Care and Childcare.

At Devon Health Studio the Curriculum will be personalised to meet the needs of all students. Alongside the National Curriculum all students will have the opportunity to complete the English Baccalaureate and a range of vocational qualifications.

Working with partners including South Devon Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, Torbay Care Trust, Care Homes and other private sector partners it is believed that the Devon Health Studio would be a very desirable proposition to

• Ensure professional learning and work placement from age 14
• Encourage young people to aspire to careers in Health and wider care in a variety of settings
• Involve employers in determining the curriculum and real projects and work experience
