If you are not attending College, you need to report your absence through the South Devon College absence line before 9.00am on:
0800 038 33 00 or 01803 540 341
Please make sure you have the following details to hand:
Date of birth
Personal tutor’s name
Reason for absence
Once we have your absence logged, we will send your details through to your Tutor.
If you claim weekly guaranteed Bursary payments we will ensure your reason for absence is taken into consideration when agreeing payments. In order to guarantee your payment, all absences should be reported to the absence line.
If you need to report a lateness or you need to leave college early, please inform one of our advisors at Level 1 or Level 3 Reception, who will log this on the system for you. Please do not phone the absence line to report lateness.
Absence letters are sent home to the parents and guardians of all full time learners between 16 and 18 on the day after an absence is recorded. These letters outline the time and date of the lesson(s) missed and indicate whether a phone call was received by the absence line for this period. Therefore letters are sent regardless of whether we have been notified to ensure parents and guardians are informed of every absence.
Any absence, sickness or otherwise, must be reported by your parent/guardian by 9.00am on the day you are absent. Written evidence may be requested.
