College Shortlisted for National Training Award

South Devon College has reached the South West regional final of the National Training Awards 2012.

The awards recognise and celebrate those organisations that have delivered outstanding benefits by directly linking the training needs of their people to their business needs.

College representatives will celebrate their achievement at a special gathering of recognition at the Holiday Inn, Taunton, on September 27.

Laurence Took, College Quality Improvement and Professional Development Manager, says:

“The shortlisting recognises the outstanding work of the teacher training team at South Devon College and, in particular, their impact in recent years on new lecturers recruited from industry and on the quality of teaching on vocational courses at the College.”

The judging process of the National Training Awards is rigorous with entries judged by individuals with considerable knowledge and experience in training and development.

All entrants initially go before a judging panel with regional winners then going before the Winner of the Year panel where one National Training Award Winner of the Year is chosen in each category. The winning entries are deemed to be outstanding, exceptional and inspirational and through the impact of their training and development are considered to be truly exemplary.
