GCSE Success at SDC!

THE PUBLICATION of today’s GCSE and First Diploma results has been well received at South Devon College after learners achieved a 100% pass rate across the board - including in Maths, English and Science - significantly above the national average.

The College offers nine GCSE subjects and is very aware of the importance of a GCSE in Maths, English, and Science. They offer the opportunity for learners who are unhappy with their original grade achieved at other establishments to retake the qualification. The 100% pass rate achieved in Maths, English, and Science is coupled by an excellent percentage of learners who achieved high grades A*-C. Other subjects that achieved a 100% pass rate were Biology, Chemistry, General Studies, Humanities, Psychology, Media Studies, Business and Sociology. These impressive results contributed to the College’s overall pass rate of 100%, even better than last year’s GCSE figures for South Devon College and significantly higher than the national benchmark.

“The College continues to build on its success year-on-year, with great GCSE and vocational results following on from our outstanding A level results last week,” said College Principal Stephen Criddle, “It reflects the high standards of teaching and learning available at South Devon College.  I would like to pay tribute to all the staff and students who have worked so hard to achieve such outstanding results.”
