Accreditation for Law degree at South Devon College from CILEx
Following talks with the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx), the Foundation Degree in Law at South Devon College has gained partial accreditation of the Level 3 Professional Diploma In Law & Practice for those students who successfully achieve the Foundation Degree.
David Chambers-White, Programme Co-ordinator, said
“This is an exciting development not only for current and future students but also for the local community; it’s a good example of the College and its higher education programmes continually adapting to meet employers’ needs on a national and local level. It also gives our Law students yet more choice if they wish to pursue a career in law”.
This development comes on top of another very successful year for the FdSc Law programme. 94% of second years graduated of which 3 gained distinctions. The course, has once again, achieved an overall student satisfaction rate of 100% (Plymouth University First Year Student Perception Questionnaire 2012).
The majority of students will progress from the Foundation Degree to the final year of the BSc Honours degree in Law with Business at Plymouth University. Some will go straight into employment, where their CILEx partial accreditation will be of great benefit. The College also offers separately the units required for full CILEx accreditation at Level 3;

There are still places on this course starting in September 2012. The College is holding a University Open Day on Monday 20th August from 10am to 4pm at the University Centre, Long Road, Paignton; this will give those interested a chance to talk direct to tutors and see the impressive University Centre first hand.
