The new Business Advantage Course Programme for 2012-13 will be hitting business desks during the coming week.
The Course Programme is full of courses to suit every business, ranging from short sharp half day Career Boost courses such as 21st Centre Marketing and Managing Staff Effectively, through to post graduate level Chartered Management Institute (CMI) management courses.
The College staff teaching on these courses are friendly and approachable, with wide industry experience in their fields, as well as excellent academic credentials. This enables them to deliver courses awarded by prestigious professional bodies such as the CMI, AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians), CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development) and the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx). The Course Programme also lists other qualifications and unaccredited courses in Assessing & Verifying, Computing and IT, Counselling & Mentoring, Food Health and Safety, and NVQs, all very good value for money.
Business Advantage courses are offered at two venues: the South Devon College Management Centre is at Heathfield, very conveniently situated just off the A38, and the University Centre on the College campus in Long Road, Paignton. Both venues very suitable for hire for business events. Courses can also be delivered at business premises.
Apprenticeships provide a superb way for employers to grow new talent. Through the College, businesses can take on apprentices of any age in any one of a staggering 36 different trades, and more are being added all the time. Anyone interested in management, whether an aspiring manager, team leader or existing owner or senior manager, is welcome to the Managers Club meetings, held on the 1st Wednesday of every month in the evening. The next meeting is on 3rd October from 5.30pm to 6.30pm at the University Centre in Paignton, and attendance is completely free.
For the first time, some of the courses which do not require an interview before enrolling can be bought online at shop.southdevon.ac.uk, and more will follow in the future.
