Go Green Week is an annual national week of action and activities relating to climate change and sustainability. At South Devon College we celebrate and support this initiative to raise awareness and understanding of the issues affecting sustainability and how we can all make a difference.

 


During the week commencing Monday 7th February 2011  South Devon College ran a week long schedule of activities which covered subjects such as;

  • Global Warming and Climate Change
  • Green Travel and Transport initiatives
  • Impact of 'Peak Oil'
  • Waste Management and Recycling
  • Environmental issues
  • Sustainability
  • Transition Town Totnes
  • Eco friendly products
  • Renewable Technologies
  • Sustainable Construction
  • Sustainable and organic food production


Tutors were able to book their groups in to visit the activities which took place in the Street. In addition to the tutor group bookings there were also a range of seminars and interactive activities here at the college:

Internal Activities

  • Build a strawbale wall
  • Mindfulness Talks
  • Plastering and Rendering Straw Bales

Off-Site Activities

  • Visit to Greenway (National Trust)
  • Visits to Occombe Farm
