About the Charity

The charity was set up in 2008 to enhance the education of students attending South Devon College and to support the local community.

South Devon College Charitable Trust, or The Friends of South Devon College was established in 2008. The overriding aim of the charitable organisation is 'supporting students'.

Students of all ages and abilities, from all backgrounds, can use South Devon College as a stepping stone to realizing their aspirations. Often described as the engine room of the local economy, the College enables local people to develop talent and skills to an increasingly high level, and supports innovation and enterprise.

Around 17,000 students pass through the college each year and almost 90% of those will go on to apply their new skills and knowledge locally, thereby helping to improve economic performance.

With the support of the Friends of South Devon College, we are able to ensure that hardship is not a barrier to education, to provide enhanced opportunities and better support students to achieve their full potential.

Your support of this cause will help to improve the longer term prosperity for local people and the local economy.
