The South Devon College Student's Union’s End of Year Charity Ball recently showcased the talents of one of X Factor’s hottest stars, Lloyd Daniel, whilst also raising over £650 for Charity.

Popular X Factor 2009 Finalist Lloyd Daniels will performed on stage at the charity ball, held at Oldway Mansion in Paignton last week, where he also be met and greeted students, and posed with them for photos. Welsh blonde singing sensation Lloyd, was the youngest contestant in X Factor last year, with Cheryl Cole describing him as "the first person I'm going to say you've got the X Factor to."

The South Devon College Students’ Union (SDC:SU) Student Charity Ball was in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness and child cancer charity Clic Sargent, with all the £650 proceeds from ticket sales shared with both charities. The Charity Ball also marked the end to the reign of current Student President Ed Matthews, from Paignton, who has handed the mantle over to Kate Oakden, from Brixham. Ed and Kate have been working together to organise the charity ball and finish the academic year in style for College students. As Student Liaison Officer Roy Courtney explains,

Lloyd Daniels was overwhelmed with the response he received as he took the stage at the first Student Union Charity Ball. The night had a fantastic vibe about it and the X factor finalist even took time out to mingle with the students and have photos taken. Thanks to the Student Union the event ran smoothly and everyone had a great night. I’d like to thank all the support from staff and students; we managed to raise a fantastic £650 on an outstanding night and really can’t wait for next year!
